On the innovation front, the funny thing for Sony fanboys is that the PS wasn't even really a Sony innovation. It was commissioned by Nintendo as a cd attachment for the SNES and was a joint project, the deal fell through, so Sony said "F you" and made a console from the project's remains. Hence why the first PS controllers were basically just SNES controllers. There was nothing "innovative" about the project either, as Sega had already done it.

Do you have a source stating the Nintendo PlayStation project was commisioned by Nintendo? If so, why would they choose Philips and betray Sony? The PS1  as we know has nothing to do with the Nintendo PlayStation, since after the cancellation of the project in 1992 Ken Kuturagi was working on a CD rom based wich involved playing videogames with 3D graphics.

Still, the SNES audio chip was made by Sony.
