DLC should be purely extra content that is intended to provide longer value to playing the game for incremental costs. Not something they originally wanted in game and to meet a street date pushed off and decided to sell later for more. Patches shouldn't exist except for bugs simply not realized at all. I agree, but publishers have deadlines for developers, so they can't always delay a game to polish it or fix every single bug, which probably gave way to day 1 patches.
