hmm pretty sure xb360 has been profitable for a couple years now... xb if i recall was 4billion in the red i havee no clue where kinect is with r&D cogs and advertising exp vs net profit.... but the real question is how much in the red zune player was.... plus those calculation are biased... it fails to consider that 1 expense in r&d might not be exclusively for the future.... what technical know how they gained... time value of money also etc.... any how out of the three with all the other sectors considered MS is leading by light years in net income operating income etc etc except sony in revenue but that's because a 50 inch plasma sells for way more than anything from MS.... and the xb or any media box is the future of global entertainment and casual computing.... so MS has no choice but to stay.... especially with google and apple hitting hard on other sectors...
