i just don't understand how someone living since he was one year old in the usa for 34 years now isn't an american and still an italian. if he didn't want to be an american it seems legit that usa can say then "if you didn't want to be part of us, you have to follow the rules or bye bye". sure i think if he didn't drive it's no reason to do it but if this is law in usa, you just shouldn't sleep in your van drunken. easy as that, if you could get deported for this, don't do it.
if he couldn't get the american citizenship, the rules are shit and it's bad for him and if he just "forgot" to get the american citizenship for 34 years, what can i say? his own fault as bad as it sounds.
