Gandhi once said; this is a paraphrased version of what he said because I don't have the source available: that if everyone would follow the teachings set forth by Jesus in the sermon on the mount, the world would be a more peaceful happy place.

The link contain many of Gandhi's view on Jesus and his teaching. I also like that he basically said what passes off as Christanity today is an aboration of all the teachings of Christ.
