And about the difficulty--I've spent real out of pocket money to have enough Rift Crystals to buy other people's pawns that are overpowered.  It doesn't take long for them to be underpowered as well.  The two pawns I lost earlier today were Level 46 (cost me about $5 from my pocket) and 39 (was free even though it was way more powerful than my current level 32 characters).  They both died a horrible death and now one isn't available anymore and the other costs more than I can afford.

The difficulty is pretty good.  Often times, you'll know you shouldn't be going to a certain place because the enemies there are just too powerful.  Then, later on you'll pass through an area and suddenly you'll kick ass on the enemies that beat you down before.  To keep things balanced, you can buy pawns on your level pretty much for free but pawns several levels higher cost a TON of rift crystals.

For those confused, you can buy Rift Crystals from PSN/XBLA for about a $1.  That way, you can have characters in your team that are waaaay overpowered but you're going to have to pay for them.  Characters that are higher in level will likely have finished the quests you're doing and can tell you what to do and where to go when you get lost.  As you play, your character will learn what to do and when somebody else buys them, you'll profit in Rift Crystals and your character will tell them how to solve the quests you finished or defeat enemies you've vanquished--they don't spoil them, though.  They just offer clues.

Haha, so typical of you to buy those crystals. I think im gonna avoid the crystals but I will buy everything else when it comes to DLC, I wanna experience it all.

So your pawns can permanently die or what?

What level are u d21lewis? Badgenome, what level are you?

I'm only 3-4 hours into the game so far and lvl 6 I think but I love it so much already. Absolutely fantastic and above my already high expectations.

My personal pawn and I are at level 32.

Your pawn can die if you don't revive them in a certain amount of time.  Well, maybe not die.  They'll just be returned to the rift and you can pick them back up from there.  Pawns that you hired will be returned to the rift but it costs you Rift Crystals to get them again.  It sucks because the guys I lost were uber powerful and I can't afford to buy them again.  I'm just hanging out with two asshole pawns until I can get my funds back up to buy better ones

It makes me feel bad because one guy in this thread said he took down a dragon while he was at level 25.  I found a dragon (two, actually) and both of them totally kicked my ass.  One turned my pawns against me and the other just fire breathed us to death.  I guess I need to find a new strategy.

"hanging out with two asshole pawns" hahaha.

Btw, are you still up? Isn't it like 2 AM over where you live d21lewis? No work tomorrow (Wednesday)?
