Well if Epic's claims are true, that it will require hardware 10* more powerful than the current gen consoles to run UE4, this should not come as a big surprise. No information so far released has even suggested that the Wii U is anywhere near that level of power.
I'd also wonder, given recent claims that Epic is lobbying Sony and MS to upspec their next gen efforts, whether Sony and MS are planning for their new consoles to be in this realm. If not it could leave Epic in an interesting position.
