I don't think it's actually that clear cut. There's a clear legal difference between a "sale" (physical object sold) and a "license" (no physical object is present). The only semi-on-point case I know of regarding whether you can circumvent DRM wound up on the "yes" side.

It's selling a license. You may have your own opinion, but according to the government and companies involved this is how it works.

Sorry for not being clear. I don't like these DLCs just as much as you do. I'm against the mind-set everyone seems to have about ownership of what is on the disc.
