I find that hard to believe. DS is getting a huge price cut and 3 new Pokémon games this year. I'd be amazed if it doesn't pass the PS2 at least briefly, even if the PS2 eventually reclaims its title due to Sony continuing to introduce it to new territories. Nintendo will probably shut DS production down sometime in 2013 or 2014 to make it easier to push 3DS sales.
