4. This is common when a Man is trying to prove he is manly for any type of entertainment. Some men like romance comedies, but they will talk about an action movie to justify that they are still manly. Many guys will list video games as a hobby, but will talk about an outdoor activity afterwards. This is really only matters to people who lack confidence in themselves and need to justify something they feel they should be ashamed of.

5. Not sure you can call it gimicky if you haven't tried it. 3rd parties wanted to support the Wii more, but they want to develope a game for all three platforms at the same time. But in the Wiis case they had to build games from the ground up for it instead of porting. But 3rd parties that developed to the Wii strength were able to do well.

6. They also gained so many new people with the Wii. A new generation of kids.

7. Your compairing Apples and Oranges. A game for two console that has been out 5+ years and a year old portable device.

8. The media also screams doom and gloom about Sony and Microsoft all of the time. And Facebook and Amazon and Apple and on and on.

Why you mad, bro? Seriously take a chill pill. Nintendo hasn't destroyed anything. Have you seen a slowdown in great AAA games in the industry? The only thing I have seen since the Wii came out was an increase in the types of games available to us. Traditional games are my bread and butter, but I also enjoy a lot of motion controlled/touch screen games.

3. That 95 Million consists of the Nintend Fans, Kids,  and casual market. Core gamers hate the Wii and either never bought one or brag about how they had one but got rid of it because it was a pathetic gimmicky babie's toy. Some people even smashed and burned their Wii's. This is why Nintendo simply cannot get the core crowd. If they want to survive they need to appeal to the fans, kids , and casuals.

4. The unfortunate thing is these type of adults along with teens make of the majority of core gamers. That's why the Wii is so hated, it's simply uncool to like the Wii.

5. Doesn't matter if they tried it or not, The core gamer will follow what the media says. Many core gamers hate the 3ds and state that the system is nothing but a babysitting tool with a lame 3D gimmick, that doesn't even allow for dual analog control without the use of a giant peripheral.

6. I agree. Which is why Nintendo needs to continue to market and go after that market instead of the core. If Nintendo doesn't capture the Wii crowd then you can expect to enjoy all your Nintendo games on the PS4.

7. Raccoon City was critically panned and yet sold leaps and bounds better. It's not apples and oranges. It's a rotten apple selling better then a juicy ripe apple. Revelations received excellent reviews and most people who played it loved. It was even praised as been a return to the horror roots the series was originally known for. Yet suddenly all those fans who were whining like a bunch of pretentious sops had the chance to buy this game they refused. Instead they buy the game that is the farthest thing from the series roots. Why is this? It's because they hate Nintendo's hardware. They refuse to believe that a good RE could be made on a pathetic little piece of 3D crap handheld. If the core gamer doesn't buy a good 3rd party title for the 3ds what makes anyone think that core gamers will buy a good 3rd party game on the Wii-U?

8. The core gamer hates Nintendo and everything they represent. They hate how Nintendo brought in a whole new demographic of gamers. What bugs them the most is that this new demographics don't like the games they like. Oh no they like Party games, just dance, and family games. Nintendo introduced this plague of social,motion controlled, touch screen , gimmicky, foul, underpowered, retro fueled, over milked, stupidly simply gaming that has rocked the foundations of the gaming world. The core will hate Nintendo until the day Reggie, Iwata, Miyamoto are defeated and must admit that they are the worst thing to happen to games ever.
