Like a few other people I stopped really reading the sheet after I read Cell Broadband Engine. The last "new" product released with a Cell in it was Toshiba's TV in 2008. IBM has all but totally dropped the project, outside the PS3, Sony doesn't have anything that has the processor. So once the PS3 stops being manufactured the Cell chip is extinct.
Finally excluding the GDDR6 goof-up, it would of been more believable if Sony was not in a financial crisis because right now no bank would fund such a project.
