Things will improve. But if not (even with mario and a remodel is not certain) it's at least good the way it is. I would like a downgrade in the whole gaming industry to be honest. 60k week average is more than ok to get support. And cheaper games means more good games. I would hate portables to be transformed in the high risk 360/PS3 game development.
