But this is very close after PS3 launch and it is still new..one would expect it's sales to be dropping very fast. You're talking what, that data was 3-4 weeks after PS3 launch? It's sales are naturally slowing. As of now it's probably not ahead of 360 at all. Wait until we get any new official EU sales (Germany, UK etc) and I bet 360 will be ahead. Especially given the high price of PS3.
Also, I'm pretty sure the 800k you're using is shipped. Companies all the time call shipped sold. Not only that but you use some pretty flimsy arguments at times. For example, you state as fact PS3 sold 25% of it's first week in all territories, because the UK said so, but you do not know if it did that anywhere else. Maybe it most places it dropped to 10% second week? Point is you just dont know, but you're taking it as 100% fact. to get to an ironclad 800k number.
Also can you link to Stringer or others saying 800k? Because I'd like to see how they phrase it exactly, because they probably meant shipped.
