Well the idea that population growth relates to economic prosperity is wrong. There is no magic per capita income above which a family disintegrates. That notion is ludicrous, although many incompetent academics hold it. I am sorry if I mis-read you. it is understandible that these academics, who don't know what they are talking about will mislead many people.
Israel is a very good example of what I am saying. In Israel the secular Jews are dying out. They have a reproduction rate of 15 children per 20 adults. The religious Hasidic Jews have seven children per family. The reproduction rate has nothing to do with income, it is the result of family structure, i.e. divorce rate, which has to do with religious beliefs.
