It should. I believe I played the DS version online far more than the Wii version (even though I did play online a decent amount on AC: City Folk). It seems a portable AC is more suited for online play (although I am sure a Wii U version will be pretty good for online). One problem with AC: City Folk was that you had to drop another 15-20 for Wii Speak or buy the bundle package (thankfully I put it to even more use with MH3 before support for the Wii Speak mic was pretty much dropped). The DS and 3DS have built in mics but the Wii didn't. The Wii U will have a built in mic which will make it easier for everyone to communicate online (could be a good thing like in games like AC, MH, etc or a bad thing like hearing kids whine on CoD).
