Bikes were done away with in the next Mario Kart, MK7 :P I think they were just the game's gimmick feature like two characters per kart was for Double Dash. Mario Kart Wii U should stay close to the example MK7 has set for it. Though a bit of an expanded character roster would be nice (Keep the babies away, please, but WHY U NO DIDDY/BOO/PETEY/GOOMBA/WALUIGI).
