It's outsold the DS' first year, if anything it's doing better than it should be. It sells the most units worldwide every week as of late purely on the brand power of Mario. I have 3 friends who also own a 3ds and they only own Mario kart 7 and SM3DL. So yes it will be fine.
Haven't touched mine since February, I am waiting until Fire Emblem and KH DDD come out so then I won't put the thing down for a while. I'm a sucker for rhythm games that don't need an extra peripheral, so I might try Rhythm Thief and that FF game until then.
