Old news. I've been making fun of this for a few months.

Sorry if I missed the post on here.  Figured that, with the movie out, it would be worth a post about the game.

My intention wasn't to make it seem like I was pointing out that it's been posted already. My intention was to laugh at the fact they turned a "strategy board game" into a "first person shooter video game" . :P

And it's probably still better than the movie. :D

If Battleship were actually a strategy board game, it might remotely fit.  But Battleship the boardgame is actually a game of deduction with a naval theme.  Besides the theme not being a fit for a land-based FPS mode, what it is, isn't either.  Think of this: They do a movie based on Mastermind, and then do a FPS based on the movie.  That is akin to what you have with Battleship.

Anyhow, I am not opposed to branching out, if done right.  Like Battleship Galaxies is a space combat game, that is done well, by Hasbro:

Now maybe if they did a movie based on this, it might be interesting.

Yeah. Strategy was a bad term. lol

No sweat.  I have seen people end up putting deductive reasoning under "strategy" and then argue that deductive reasoning was strategy of some sort, because you employ a strategy to figure things out.  Thing, in regards to strategy, is that it is an interactive process, for the most part, where you try to end up interacting with the play environment to defeat one's opponent.  Strategy can use deductive reasoning in it, but something based on deductive reasoning usually is more static, and akin to figuring out a puzzle, as opposed to generating the puzzle on the fly to muck up one's opponent.
