2) You buy a game for characters? Really?
3) Again why would this affect your purchase
4) This is valid. MKDS has more to do in single player after your were bored of GP and Time Trial.
5) This has always been true, it's supposed to be a fun game in multiplayer. But it still does matter in Time Trial where it forms part of the strategy.
6) Strongly disagree, I can't play MKDS because I got RSI from snaking (seriously). Making a game arbitrarily harder like that only adds to the experience of the most competitive players, who have plenty of other serious racing games to work on. MK is a game for the masses. I feel the same about competitive Brawl; go play Street Fighter.
7) Would rephrase as, they spent a lot of time on gimmicks when just polishing the core would have been better.
