Games and a reasonable price. Why buy a Vita when you can get a PS3 for the same price? Speaking of games, Sony would need a recognisable IP on their console; one which made the PSP popular in Japan is now gone. A good portion of Nintendo's IP are popular and they can easily provide the handheld with support. No matter how awesome Gravity Rush may be, it's a brand new IP on a not-so-hot piece of hardware. The planning of Vita's launch should have been planned and executed better. The price was and is much too high; a lesson learned by Nintendo. Securing popular titles such as CoD, MH, etc. on launch could've given them a nice and powerful entry into the market but sadly that didn't take place. Maybe they should have waited a year before going though with producing the hardware to be available for purchase. Hopefully they can pull off a "miracle" because Vita really is a nice piece of tech and I'd like to see it grow and prosper. I planned on getting one myself. |
The price is fine. The only reason it's not selling its because it has no games. Yes, it is the same price as a PS3, but the PS3 is 6 years old. If anything is overpriced, its the PS3. Sony does need recognizable IP, but they don't necessarily have to be exclusive. A COD, Assassins Creed, FIFA..etc made to take advantage of Vita's features is all that is really needed. If they get cross platform play with PS3 that's a reason to own both.
