I don't really know when I realized I was on the internet. It was a gradual progression from BBS use at home, telnet, usenet, etc to using the client/server system at uni with access to outside newsgroups, alt binaries, chat rooms etc to slowly be overtaken by search engines like AltaVista and the rise of www addresses.

My first experiences with the internet at uni was mostly text only access with work arounds to download files and copy them onto floppy disks (was discouraged at uni) to be used on a pc. That was in '92.
