Dude, Snyder changed the entire ending of The Watchmen.

Whedon wrote a new story for this movie but you'll be hard pressed to find a truer adaptation of the characters themselves. 

I actually found Wacthmen movie ending satisfying. I like that Rosharch didnt die "alone" and had a friend to watch instead of having NIteOwl banging silkspecter for the third time. Also left the structure of the story intact.
