I think Watchmen would have had more impact if we had seen it much earlier. Earlier adaptations wouldn't have done it justice, though. If it had been done earlier, the idea of outlawed superheroes would have been fresher. As it stands, everything from The Incredibles to Justice League (animated) has already done it. I enjoyed it, though. Pretty faithful to the comic--and I'm glad they didn't show a giant squid at the end.
