Since they didn't market the game at all, I'm not really sure it deserved more sales than it got. Internet-savvy gamers have heard about the game a lot, but most people haven't, and what they see at the store is a kiddy-looking game cover which doesn't say much about the game.

Exactly. The game itself deserved advertising, and thus higher sales. It didn't deserve low sales just because its corporate parent decided not to push it.

OK, let's rephrase my original point as "no 3rd party company deserved to sell more games on the Wii than it sold". That's the key thing as long as we're talking about gaming as a business.
