It's pretty simple, happens all the time. In order to get big you have to sacrifice the community.

Back in the day VG Chartz was more of a family, there wasn't that many people, everyone was close, ioi posted funny stuff, the mods or admins had fun from time to time with threads messing with people. Everyone heavely favoured one video game company and everyone knew what it was. Basically once ioi quit his job to run VG Chartz and it stopped being a fun hobby and everything took a serious turn, which is fine it makes perfect sense for ioi, who wouldn't wanna run there own website at home as a job, doing what they love.

Now you got tons of new members, old members leaving and the ones that didn't leave just bitch about it. The mods have to be more professional about there job, same as ioi everything just got serious...where's the joker when you need him.

So, if you could what would you change around here then?

Hmm hard to say, with the oldies leaving I became a top dog pretty quick. As for epic funny threads they are missed. I'm trying to bring comedic threads to VG Chartz but it's hard to get anyone to bite, it get's frustrating. Back in the day that wouldn't of been a problem, people would of played along quite a bit, it's what made it fun to come to the forums.

My only advice for what to change is people need to lighten up, were on the internet let's have fun (not in a pissing everyone off kinda way). As for newbies find your thing to branch out of the newbie zone. Find what will make you branch out and make everything think hey it's X guy, he must be doing his X thing again. That's what i noticed that's lacking, to many of the same people, often spamming and not enough originality.

Also I miss the graphs and all the detailed info we had about all the consoles/handheld. I made a lot of threads based on stuff like that. It's a shame they were takin away.
