Because once gay marriage is passed, Gay people can vote on politics and not on civil rights.

Same reason why the women's pay act came up for vote right before the election... when the last time it was put up for a vote was the McCain Obama election.

 

Don't Ask, Don't tell only got voted away because a REPUBLICAN group was about to get it ruled unconstitutional.

Although they are for these things... most Democratic politicans don't actually want to see this things come to frution.

It's even more true with immigration reform and varius affirmitive action beliefs... since those groups actually agree more often with republicans but vote against them because they think republicans have it out for them.
