handhelds are down... all handhelds... in all markets, compared to last gen.

wonder why? (rhetorical question)

Vita is an absolute basket case right no

iSee what you did there.

(but yeah, I agree, the glory days of portables are gone. I'm just hoping they go down with dignity - 3DS is for the moment.)

dont worry, I'm wrong...  people here have been telling me for months that I'm wrong... so I must be wrong

yours sincerely,

Mr. Wrong.

But look, they can still live heathly for some time (from neogaf)

PSP(2011 YTD)= 884,339
PSP+PSV(2012)=610,986(-30.9%)

Looking ahead to Week 19, PSP did 34,826 in 2011.

3DS+DS(2011 YTD)=1,390,744
3DS+DS(2012 YTD)=1,663,527(+19.6%)

Looking ahead to week 19, 3DS+DS did 29,182 in 2011.

All handhelds(2011 YTD)=2,275,083
All handhelds(2012 YTD)=2,274,513

It's not dreadful, just not ideal

Vita and PSP are the ones hampering the japanese market, right now. And things will noticeable improve for 3DS in the coming  months. Not DS levels, but respectable levels, nonetheless. But things will continue to be meh outside japan.
