I'm sorry, but turning great Playstation franchises into anime? If this happened I'd boycott those games before you could even SAY boycott...

How exactly? Especially if they want to endear the Japanese to western made titles?

Because a lot of their games are made to cater to the western audience, anime is, as far as I'm concerned, an eastern thing, it's not as popular as one might think in the west, despite there being people that watch it religiously, and we already know that eastern gamers aren't a big fan of certain western games, otherwise the sales would already be higher, so why waste time and money trying to get people to buy games, when we know they're just not interested anyway? Might as well spend that time and money getting more people in their targeted area to join in the fun, example: Get more people from the west to play their games, since it'll be easier to attract them.

Besides, anime wouldn't suit some of their franchises whatsoever, however, making big movies, be it live action or CGI (Or I reckon they could get away using the ingame engine for some of them, seriously look at the Uncharted cutscenes! It'd be cheaper too!), I'm all for that, as long as they don't mess 'em up.

You seem to forget that Sony is the most multi-faceted company in the gaming industry. They own Sony pictures could make movies and shows with a hollywood budget about their games and turn a profit. Marketing movies is one thing Sony  does correctly.....personally I can't wait for the Amazing Spiderman, can't you? I hated  the old movies, but it looks like Sony is getting it right here. Sony could use their movie houses to endear people to their more mature characters if done right.
