I think what was meant was: 'That just looks silly, even for a games peripheral, and you all know it.' I.e.: it looks even dafter and sillier than the normal slew of gaming tat that we get thrown at us in the hope that something sticks. And I pretty much agree with that. Just look at the thing! It appears to be a cumbersome nightmare.
Still, in practice, it may work. I'll keep an open mind. I'm going to need a lot of convincing, though. That thing is no Balance Board.
