Notch: EA methodically destroying gaming

Well Minecraft does look exactly like an 8-bit game would in 3D, but that's not the point I was making.  You have developers like Notch here and the guy who did Angry Birds for example with one hit game each under their belt who now think they now have the pulse of the entire gaming industry and know exactly how it should be run and what gamers want.

Of course they're entitled to their own opinions.  But just because they had a hit game, that doesn't necessarly make them leaders of the industry all of a sudden.

You see that is what I don't understand, Notch voiced his own opinion on his personal twitter about a topic. He is not trying to be some arbiter of the video game industry, and if you had payed any attention to any of his interviews you would know he is the last person who would ever want to do that. It's other people that are treating his comments like some demand.

Stop thinking about Notch's comments as if he is something he is not. He is a cool guy, that is extreamly genorous, humble and happens to have made a really popular game. His oppinions are just that, everyone is free to dissagree or agree with them. He is not trying to be any leader in the industry, it's other people that are treating him like he is one.
