Here is one way Sony can offer another USP with the Vita. Instead of bit-sized PS3 games like GA, they should make wholly new marketable IPs like uncharted, but exclusive to the Vita, making their way to the home line after market success. Kind of like Pokemon, it stayed mostly exclusive to the portable line, with a few camios and sub-games here and there.

At first I didn't understand why Nintendo kept Pokemon RPG exclusive to the portable console line, but now after almost 15 years I'm starting to get it. It was a sacred product, the risk involved in putting it in 3D on the home consoles could have damaged the brand. That was a smart move in the end. Luckily NSMB DS was a different story, because they kept it in 2D on the Wii, the market was more ready for a 2D experience on a home console at that point as compared to the 64 era.

Yes, SONY need a portable exclusive franchise. I think games like Gravity Rush are needed as well, new and unique experiences that are suitable for a handheld. I can't wait for E3, I want to see what SONY are doing with the Vita.
