Why is that funny? You should support the people who make the things you like instead of stealing from them. 

The same can be said for those who buy secondhand games from stores like Gamestop, the developers don't get a dime from any of the re-sales but people still get to enjoy the game. An problem of equal, if not greater, proportion in my opinion. Its even fully legal and has a whole market segment devoted to it.
