I suggest you start going back and reviewing interviews. It is actually Game freak that is so dead against bringing Pokemon to home consoles. Nintendo did not create Pokemon Company get Genus Sonority together and invest millions to billions on home platforms because they don't believe Pokemon would be good on home consoles. Fact is Game Freak and Nintendo have to work together, Nintendo doesn't have free range control over the Pokemon IP, Game Freak has a ton of pull. Game Freak can effectively call the shots they are given almost complete control over the game itself.
Do you honestly believe that Pokemon would be releasing on DS so late in the life cycle and with 3DS on the market if Nintendo was in complete control? It makes absolutely no business sense. Nintendo gives its developers a ton of freedom but they still order new products. The company is brilliant and their is no way that they wouldn't see the potential or take advantage of their home console market. This is solely a Game Freak issue. Nintendo as a publisher gives developers soo much freedom, they focus on Japan and not give enough control to Reggie and NOA heads. The companies strengths can also be weaknesses. I could easily see a sequel to Pokemon XD coming out on WiiU with figures and awesome uses of the tablet for selecting attacks. PS to my knowledge the figure wouldn't necessarily have to remain on the tablet while you play. So you simply place your figure on the tab for a second letting it load. Pull it off and begin selecting attacks. I could see Tue TCG game getting used too, swipe a potion card across the screen giving your Pokemon a potion to heal him. Nintendo could use the WiiU to sell toys, cards and with 3DS promote its movies scanning QR codes on the back of the Bluray or DVD. I'm pretty sure Sea's announcement that Sonic merchandise is going to be a huge part of their business model. The publishers and developers see the potential in the technology! |
I don't know why you're lecturing me about things I'm already aware of. When I say 'Nintendo', I am referring to any studio under their umbrella, whether it be first or second-party, and that includes Game Freak.
