That's a fair argument. I can buy that. In other words, since they can't play the game until it's downloaded, they might as well sleep while that's happening. But in that case, what is the purpose of the words "using the Wii U effectively"?

I know, this sounds like nitpicking, but one of us is misinterpreting the quote, and it could be me I grant it.


Downloading the game in advance so that you can jump right into it later when you want to play it would be using your Wii U effectively. It's also wise to download bigger files while away if you want to play online, atleast if you have an average internet connection.

 

I can't say for sure what Iwata means with his answer, but "First, about your comment that digital download sales of packaged Wii U software may not be so attractive to consumers because of the amount of download time" makes it sound like he's just answering a question regarding download times.
