I fail to see the relevance. Diddy Kong Racing sold almost five million copies for the N64 (and that's a lot for an N64 title), so why shouldn't they make a sequel? They make sequels to games that sell less than that.

you really hate clicking links to youtube videos don't you?

I'll sum it up for you then:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ThbbN3o5yw -trailer for Donkey Kong Racing. One of the three games that Rare was developing for the GC (Other 2 being Dinosaur Planet and Banjo-Threeie.)

It's obvious as Budd Dwyer's corruption that only Rare cared about DK during that time and since they were bought out by Microsoft, Nintendo saw no need to throw a screwball(DKR) when they knew they already could get a strike with a fastball(MK.) I am not arguing against you, I'm just telling you why a sequel to the game was never released and why you will never see one. Ocarina of Time 3D has been out less than a year and has already doubled the sales of the Diddy Kong Racing Port on ds and Mario Kart 7 has already passed sales of diddy Kong racing on 64. If that isn't a good indicator of how much Nintendo wont focus on a new DKR then give me whatever you're smoking dude.

I did watch that trailer though.

And using DKR DS for comparison is unfair since Nintendo didn't promote it at all (unlike the constant TV advertisements about Ocarina of Time 3D and MK7).

Anyway, I'm glad you're not arguing against me, and like many others I too want a new F-Zero before any other racer. I don't think it would match DKR2's sales though.
