350 is unacceptable and sets then up for failure. 300USD or less. Preferably 250 USD.

250 is absolutely ludicrous. That would be the same as the wii launched for 6 years ago. Only now with a tablet controller.
It would be less than half what the PS3 launched at 6 years ago and the same price as a ps3 now!
It would be $50-$150 less than what the 360 launched at 7 years ago.

I don't know what it is about gamers but a lot of them are comically tight with money. The prices of similar electronics have gone up. New phones launch for FAR more than they used. Yet people think the price of consoles should effectively decrease.

From what we know of the hardware it is looking to be quite a bit more powerful than the PS3/360 and with a pricey sophisticated controller.
I would say $300 would be very reasonable from Nintendo. While $350 would be acceptable and fair. $400 would be a little too much.

It's up to Nintendo to prove to the consumer that it is worth whatever the MSRP is. If they don't then people are more likely to get one of the other consoles. They need a couple of those killer universal appeal games like Wii Sports if they want to catch the main stream again. They need to show the Nintendo faithful that it will be everything they were hoping for in a HD Nintendo console to keep them from going to Xbox or PS which will both probably be priced lower. And they need to prove to the hard core that they have something for them that they can't get anywhere else Nintendo wants them to add the Wii U to their entertainment center next to their PC, 360 and PS3.
