I was reading the article and I got to the portion that says "I implore people not to write this game off as another Mario Kart clone."
Don't worry, they won't. This game has karts, planes and water vehicles.
It will be called a Diddy Kong Racing clone. 
Other than that, this game looks awesome! Been waiting for another game similar to DKR, and I doubt I am the only one.
