Maybe, but on the other hand it may get their attention and plant some seed of doubt in their heads. In any case I just wrote a forum post and not an attempt at convincing anyone, I'm not a politician or a preacher :P

Persoanlly, I support the death penalty. If you're proven beyond a shadow of a doubt as guilty of murder than you deserve to die. I'd rather violent animals be put to death and not be a threat to anyone else.

Here we have the typical contradictions from American right-wingers. "Big government has too much power and/or infringes on our freedoms!" quickly followed by "Give government the power to decide who gets the death penalty, the ultimate attack on a person's freedom!!". Thanks for illustrating exactly what I was mentioning before...
