The only full DD games I've ever purchased are all on PC, where it makes sense (and they're usually cheaper than their console counterparts). DD on 360/PS3 to me just seems pointless for several reasons...
1: Unless you've purchased a more recent version of the consoles with a much bigger HDD than what they initially launched with, you're going to run out of storage room FAST. I've got a 120GB 360, and my HDD has been nearly 90% full for the past year now just from installs, and demos and other such content. I'd never be able to amass the library of games I have today if they were all DD.
2: Unlike the PC, game consoles are eventually discontinued. If I have disc copies of my games, I'll at least know I can always pop them in and play them as long as my console turns on. What if they were all DD, and my console breaks down? I'm screwed. I'd have to download all of them over again on a new console, and that's assuming M$ never changes their account info and services on XBL going forward into next gen (for example you can no longer play games online or download content through XBL for the original Xbox.)
3: The cost. As everyone knows, not only are DD games on XBL/PSN the same price as their retail counterparts, but they remain the same cost several months after the game's original release as well. It's a joke seeing full games pop up on XBL months after release at $59.99, when you can just get the physical copies much cheaper at retailers or on sites like Amazon by that time. And then of course there's no resale value whatsoever, so if you buy a game and blow through it, or decide it sucks and want to get some of your money back, you're screwed.
The trade-off here is that the biggest and most popular DD console games are the "Arcade" type games that retail for $5-$15 on average. You'll get a helluvalot more mileage and value spending $15 on a game like Trials or Gotham City Impostors, and they won't chew up all your HDD space either.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
