like i said, that's where you lack in logic in usa (ok u are from uk lol). your family is only then in danger if you play the cowboy and start to shoot and the gangsters will shoot as well. they don't kill you if you do what they want. i bet in america more people die in robberies than in countries were householders don't have a weapon. you want to blow the gangsters head off and you think he wouldn't try to do something against that or what? if there is more than one in your house and you shoot only one down, then your whole family will die.
