Consider the cirumstances right now. E3 has yet to even happen yet here is the known 3rd party game list thus far.
Aliens: Colonial Marines Assassin's Creed III Batman: Arkham City Untitled Battlefield Darksiders II Untitled Dirt Dragon Quest X: The Five Awakening Races Online Untitled F1/Formula One Killer Freaks from Outer Space Lego City Stories Metro: Last Light Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge Pikmin 3 Project CARS Project Nova Untitled Rabbids Untitled Super Mario game Untitled Super Smash Bros. sequel Untitled Tekken Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online Untitled The Legend of Zelda Your Shape Wii U
10 of these 22 games are or will be rated M. 19 of the 22 are targeted at core gamers. And as I aleady said, E3 is still to come. Now look back at this period prior to the Wii launching. It most certainly did not have such a huge mix of core dedicated 3rd aprty multiplatform titles. Not even after E3.
Here is a list of Wii launch titles. Look at the difference.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Call of Duty 3 Crayon Shin-chan: Saikyou Kazoku Kasukabe King Wii Elebits Excite Truck Gottlieb Pinball Classics Happy Feet The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Madden NFL 07 Monster 4x4 World Circuit Need for Speed: Carbon Rampage: Total Destruction Red Steel SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Tamagotchi: Party On!/Tamagotchi's Sparkling President Trauma Center: Second Opinion WarioWare: Smooth Moves Wii Play Wii Sports Wing Island Barnyard Cars Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Ennichi no Tatsujin The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy GT Pro Series Kororinpa: Marble Mania Machi Kuru Domino Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Necro-Nesia Open Season Rayman Raving Rabbids SD Gundam G Breaker Super Fruit Fall Super Swing Golf Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam

Does it really matter that 19 out of 22 semi confirmed games are targeted at the core gamers, if the core gamer don't buy the machine? The "core" already has a PS360 (or both), why would they bother buy the WiiU if it's only a little bit more powerful? Better wait for something even MORE powerful...

You are going into a circle. How do you expect core gamers to buy yrou maching if core games don't exist on it? Chicken and the egg. You have to start it somewhere and in thsi case, it starts with the games.'
Will the hardcore drop their PS3/X360 for Wii U? Maybe a few but what ti does do is establish the Wii U as a much better core gamer machine than the Wii was. This will push more titles, exclusive titles, to the Wii U which will continue the cycle. And I mentioned it several times already that we've yet to even have E3 this year. As tight lipped as everyone must be with NDA's over the games we already know about, doesn't that make you wonder about the games we don't know about?

I'm reeeaaally excited for E3 - it's gonna rock the ground we walk on :D I'm just worried for the WiiU's future. It'll be king for a year, but then what? I know it all depends on the up coming PS4 and Xbox 720 (and also alot on Apple). My main worry is if it'll keep its initial 3rd party support, since I just wanna have the one console. I'm psyched for the Wii U's launch, but not as much its second year on the market :P
