Jumpin said: Awesome, Spring release for Japan, a Fall release for Europe, and a Summer 2014 release for the US after Operation Firefall. |
How do you know it's a fall release?
|
It's slated as a 2012 release, and it's relatively unlikely they'll throw it into the holiday season, as Fire Emblem is an incredibly small series in Europe. It's virtually non-existant here. Thus, it's best to be released at a time in which there are few other games released. So Q3 or October seems better than November/December.

I would agree, but the last Fire Emblem to be released over here is Shadow Dragon, and that launched in December.
They won't be releasing a Mario for the 3DS at Christmas, and the WiiU is also coming around that time. Such a small game is what Ninty needs to attract the hardcore crowd, as it were, at Christmas.
I reckon we'll either see it 4 weeks before or 4 weeks after the WiiU launch.

The new Fire Emblem is a lot more important than Shadow Dragon was, though. When Shadow Dragon released, the DS was already on track to become the best selling system of all time, and was probably also the best system of all time in terms of RPGs. Thus, a minor series like Fire Emblem was of no importance.
Now, however, Fire Emblem is actually of a slight bit of relevance, and it helps boost the 3DS overall. Thus, they're probably going to do slightly more to help make the game sell.

I suppose this is true. However, it all comes down to what Nintendo have lined up for the holiday season. If they've got some real big guns, like Zelda, for example, then it's a different matter.
All will be revealed at E3, no doubt.

They've got to have something big for christmas. Dropping the tied-for-biggest series in existence in August (New Super Mario Bros 2, tied with Mario Kart and Call of Duty) without anything big in the christmas period as well seems rather ridiculous.
It is possible that the holiday season will just be several mid-sized games, though, and then it's possible that they'll lump Fire Emblem in with them. I still think a late Q3 release is most likely, though.
