Americans makes politics out of the weirdest things. (Keeping the questions in mind) 

The site wasn't trying to use American politics as the basis for the questions. If you read about why they chose the questions, they explain why they chose them - as many of them relate to international political views through history, rather than to a specific country at a specific time... Even if its a strange question, like abstract art.

I guess I should have been more specific: Non-Nordic countries plus a few more (the UK, Germany, among others) makes politics out of the weirdest things.
