150 million consoles.... maybe, 150 million console in 6 years not a chance in hell tehy expected that

and Kutaragi's PS3 and the PS3 we actually got, where two drastically different beast

what they expected was the hardware investment to pay off in the future, that's something Kutaragi and Sony talked about WAY more than the console selling 150 million units. Something I've seen a lot but it never makes any sense, and  you've heard this a lot "Sony can't AFFORD another PS3", My question is, why would they have to? why would they HAVE to spend the millions in RnD on Blu-Ray when becasue of the PS3 it's the dominate HD platform? why would they HAVE to spend the MILLIONS on the Cell processor when becasue of the PS3 has more than proven it's worth and is incerdibly cheap to make now? EVERYTHING that made the PS3 such a cash black hole, TODAY would allow the PS4 to still be powerful yet cheap and affordable.

PS3 laid the road work not just for itsself but for future consoles as well, that's a fact many people either forget, or flat out ignore.

anyway this is getting off topic, which I agree with BTW

Nobody said that Sony expected to sell 150m+ PS3 within six years. superchunk, the guy you originally quoted, said that Sony expected 150m+ lifetime. You laughed at that at first, but it's good to see that you've finally become rational.

The rest I won't comment on.

"selling 80 million units and ensuring blurays successmeans it's job is done"

PS3 is only going to sell 80 million units lol ok then

and of cosue you won't comment on the rest your not as clueless as others there's reason in you I know that
