Yes and no, if Sony's financial health doesn't get better they might adopt different strategies when it comes to their next gen console since they won't be able to absorb start of gen losses like they did with the PS3.

Obviously the reason they absorbed a loss and took the hit was because of Blu Ray. I am sure the next console will have a better price. They definitely will have more games than their main competition. Online OS needs to be worked on. I doubt Sony is introducing a new format next gen.
