@ Pezus. I forgot to mention other genres. My problem with fighters, strategy games, sports games, racers, etc is that the fanbase for those games seems to be uber hardcore. Everyone I play in those games are ELITE. It's like I never get a chance to have fun. I guess I'm looking for something between the casual-ness of shooters and the hardcore-ness of the other genres.

Well many of those games provide good balance, so you won't be playing against an elite player in Starcraft 2 for example (unless you choose to or you're elite yourself).

yeah, starcraft 2 basically has you winning 50/50 no matter what. It doesn't place you with people that are way better than you. There's millions of people that play it so if you are absolutely abysmal and don't learn the mechanics (like any other game). You could probably lose. But even then, starcraft 2 has a meaty single player (though I found it very dissapointing from SC1)

It just places you with people of a similar skill level, and lets you compete in leagues. for the number 1 position :P

If you want to get ubergood, you can. Kind of like if you want ot play a single player game on really hard you can, but you don't have to.

But, I was initially abysmal, and you can just screw around and still have fun.
