MDK was an excellent TPS with first person sniping mode. I didn't buy MDK2, but I know it's known to as good.
Most probably bad marketing is to blame, but kudos to them as devs for shrinking it in just 40MB.
Maybe they largely overestimated the game's fame amongst Wii gamers after so many years since tthe original was released, while on more hardcore platforms than Wii it's quite natural the game is better known.
