Well there is still an actual error message on the screen at the bottom, and the full error message will be in the log.

By their own admission MS didn't even know what some of the on the old BSOD actually meant anymore, this way it is easier to see what the error actually is. "HAL INITILIZATION FAILED" is no less useful than "STOP Error 0x00000061: HAL1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED"
