Microsoft are bringing touch to Windows indeed, but I've migrated completely to using Windows 8 (Consumer Preview) on my laptop, and it's definitely better than Windows 7 in my opinion. It's both faster because it requires less resources, but the new start screen is a big improvement over the old start menu, and there's a bunch of other upgrades (large and small) that make Windows 8 really nice to use on a regular non-touch PC. |
Really? From what I have seen the Metro UI is a bit of a pain with mouse and keyboard, even if it looks very nice
The thing is, I basically just use my PC for Skype, Chrome, Steam and the occasional other programme, but 90% of use is Chrome + Steam. This means that I could probably just stick those tiles on the homescreen?
My problem is that I can't create a large enough partition on my HDD, and my attempts to run it virtually have failed, so I can't even try it. I am, however, building a new PC in the summer, so mabye there will be space to try it on there, but I have no interest in really using touch for my PC, I don't see why we want gestures to replace button presses....
