It's cool that people make statements like these, but they really need some adequate data to back up their claims. If they really want people to believe what they say holds value, evidence of Japanese games on aggregate sites comparing this gen with last gen would be useful, also the number of games as well. When that data is gather, it should be then compared to the Western market as well. Seems kinda silly that people are actually ignoring Western games when it comes to this controversial issue. Since there are more indie publishers in the Western market, I would say that the majority of mediocre games would come from the West.
But I have no data to back this up so I can't say without proof, much like how the Fez guy does and Inafune. If they actually want such things to be taken seriously, they really should provide evidence to prove so. But then again, you don't need evidence to get people to make threads about you.
